Every so often you hear someone say, “I wish I could draw”.
I think anyone can draw and I’m not alone in thinking like that. I started off drawing little stick figures just like anyone else did, in fact so did most artists. No one was born with the ability to draw masterpieces.
One of the best pieces of advice I ever heard at university was to draw everyday.
The attitude to drawing is the same for most of life, no one was born doing what they were meant to do, we all had to take little steps to learn to run, we all had that first driving lesson, that first fall on the ice rink…
This little box sends that message, that the end goal comes from tiny steps, and what better way to show that message than with a tiny sketchbook.
To make the sketchbook you need:
- A piece of sketchbook paper
- A piece of Scrapbook paper
- Double sided tape
- A piece of brown wrapping paper
- A piece of string
- Sharp scalpel
- ruler
- Printer
- Cardstock for printing
- Stapler
The sketchbook cover and back page and the matchbox template can be downloaded here:
Make sure you print the page as Portrait instead of landscape.
