Joy Pocock graduated from Huddersfield University in 2018 with a BA(hons) in textile Arts & Crafts and also winner of the Worshipful Company of Woolmen “Wool Innovator if the Year” award.
Joy’s current work is mainly surface pattern design and illustration, but she continues her love of slow making through one of a kind woven, knitted and crochet items that she sells on her Etsy shop.
Passionate about textile design, Joy is a spinner, dyer, weaver, knitter and crocheter. She loves the creation of cloth and natural fibres. Mind you, Joy comes from a line of craftspeople including weavers and boatbuilders and has fond memories of her dad hand making rugs in the evenings.
Joy also has a passion for creativity in the community and runs several craft groups both locally and online. While her Quilts of Hope project provides quilting workshops to community groups and motivational quilts to some of the UK’s most vulnerable women.
