All in the best possible taste – my thoughts on the class system

Yep, I spent a lot of time looking at Grayson Perry’s tapestries and thinking about the class system.
I finally came to the conclusion that I have no idea about it and don’t even know if it exists.

Class, to a lot of people seems to be about the objects we own. One task for Uni is to photograph objects (decorations) in my home and talk about class from them. I looked and realised… I don’t have any.

Sad? No, I don’t think so.

Grayson Perry – In the best possible taste

We’ve been looking at Grayson Perry’s latest exhibition, In the best possible taste. A series of tapestries telling the rise and fall of Timmy, an invented character from Sunderland.
For me, this was an opportunity to see more than just a bunch of tapestries. Too often I see the image but not the story behind. Once I started delving into Grayson’s inspiration I saw more than the modern day tale, I saw, through A Rake’s progress, history repeating itself.
